Tough Weather Makes For Tough Outing

HOT SPRINGS, Va. - The UNLV men's golf team shot a first-round 304 and sit in 13th place at The Preview by PING and Golfweek at the par 70, 6679-yard Cascades Course on Monday.

Rain cancelled the tournament's second round of play, scheduled for Monday afternoon. The tournament will finish with 18 holes on Tuesday morning.

Clemson leads the field after 18, shooting a seven-over par 287. The Tigers hold a three-stroke lead over Augusta State.

North Carolina's Kevin Silva is the individual leader, fighting through the weather to card a two-under 68. Silva was one of just three players to finish the day under par.

JC Deacon and Andres Gonzales pace the Rebel lineup. Both sit in an 11-way tie for 36th place after shooting 75.

Ryan Keeney and Ryan Moore both shot 77 to account for the Rebels' team total. Travis Whisman's 78 was discarded.

Tuesday's final round is slated to begin at 7:30 a.m. EDT.
