Final Stats

LARAMIE, Wyo. - UNLV downed Wyoming in four games Friday night in Laramie, Wyo., as the Rebels extended their winning streak to a season-high four matches in winning 20-30, 30-24, 34-32 and 30-26.

The Rebels improved to 12-7 overall, 6-3 in the Mountain West Conference and remained in third place. Wyoming fell to 12-10 overall, 5-5 in the MWC.

UNLV had two players record double-doubles as the Rebels won four consecutive MWC matches for the first time in the history of the school. Senior setter Nicki King continued her strong final campaign, as she handed out 59 assists and had 10 digs. Brittani Lumsden, who had missed the previous two matches due to turf toe, knocked down 11 kills and had 11 digs in her first match back from the injury.

After the Rebels' game one loss in which they hit .143 as a team, UNLV's offense started rolling as it above .200 the rest of the way and won the next three games. Mariana Pencheva led the Rebels with 18 kills, followed by Lauren Miramontes who had 15 and senior Tarin Keith's 12 kills.

Michelle Banks narrowly missed a double-double as the sophomore knocked down nine kills and had a team-high 16 digs.

Although the Rebels had four players reach double-digits in kills, noticeably absent was freshman Maria Aladjova, who only had five kills on the night. Entering the night Aladjova had reached double-digits in kills in nine-straight matches and in UNLV's 19 matches this year, she has reached double-digits in 17 of them.

UNLV swept the season series with the Cowgirls for the first time since the 2000 season. The Rebels beat the Cowgirls in five games earlier this season at the Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas on Oct. 3 and now the all-times series between the two teams is even at 9-9.

The Rebels continue their road trip as they play No. 9 Colorado State in Fort Collins, Colo., on Oct. 30 at 6:00 p.m. (PST).
