Rebels Slip To 11th

HOUSTON - The UNLV men's golf team shot a second-round 294 to move to five-over par and drop to 11th place after the second round of play at the Hall of Fame Invitational.

The Rebels trail the leader, Arizona, by 21 shots heading into Sunday's final round.

The Wildcats also boast the individual leader, Chris Nallen. Nallen shot 66 for the second straight day and holds a commanding seven-stroke lead.

UNLV junior Ryan Moore trails Nallen by nine strokes, but still sits in the top 20. Moore is tied for 12th overall after shooting 71 on Saturday.

Andres Gonzales, who shot 69 in his opening round, carded a 74 and slipped to 23rd place.

Rounding out the Rebels' team score were Sam Hunt, who shot an impressive 70 to lead all Rebels on the day, and Travis Whisman, who fired a 79. Ryan Keeney scored an 82.

Final-round play at the par-72, 7,352-yard Redstone Golf Club will begin at 7:30 a.m. CST.
