Lady Rebels Down Highlanders

LAS VEGAS - The 40th-ranked UNLV women's tennis team improved to 7-1 at home this season with a 6-1 win over No. 75 UC Riverside at the Fertitta Tennis Complex Saturday.

The Lady Rebels improved to 7-3 overall while the Highlanders fell to 4-4.

UNLV began the day by sweeping three doubles matches for one team point. In singles play, UCR got its point from a three-set win at No. 2.

Winning for UNLV were Gyorgyi Zsiros at No. 1, Anne Claire Ortiz-Luis at No. 3, Cindy Treber at No. 4, Claire Smith at No. 5, and Mery Constanti on Court Six.

The Lady Rebels will continue their 10-match homestand by hosting Bowling Green on March 19 at 2 p.m.
