Spring Break Success

SAN DIEGO - The 48th-ranked UNLV women's tennis team completed a perfect spring break trip to the West Coast Saturday with a 5-2 neutral-site victory over Colorado State at the SDSU Tennis Courts.

The Lady Rebels, who have won three matches in as many days, improved to 14-5 overall and 4-1 in the Mountain West Conference while the Rams fell to 10-8 and 2-3.

UNLV began the morning by winning two of three doubles matches for one team point, picking up victories at the top two spots.

Winning for UNLV in singles play was Gyorgyi Zsiros at No. 1, Anne Claire Ortiz-Luis at No. 3, Cindy Treber at No. 4 and Claire Smith on Court Five.

UNLV now prepares for its final action of the regular season. The Lady Rebels have a show down with first-place New Mexico on Friday in Colorado Springs, Colo., before taking on host Air Force Saturday to close MWC play.
