SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - UNLV's Halima Decree recorded two top-three finishes including a runner-up performance in the 100 meter dash to help the Rebel Track & Field team to an eighth place finish at the Cal-Nevada Championships on Sunday afternoon from the Cal Poly track.

DeCree began with her second-place finish in the 100 meters in a time of 11.58, and then ran the 200 meters in 24.56, good for third place. Christine Spence also recorded two scoring performances for the Rebels. She finished sixth in the 100 meter hurdles (14.13), while teammate Miesha McClendon was fifth in the same race (14.13). Spence also posted a fourth-place mark in the high jump at 5-08.00.

Other scoring for UNLV came from Michele Suszek with a sixth place finish in the 3000 meter steeplechase (11:12.38), and the Rebels' two relays. The 4x100 relay took third with a time of 46.99, while the 4x400 team was sixth (3:54.00).

As a team, UNLV scored 45 points to finish in eighth place. San Diego State won the team title (167), followed by CS Northridge (119) and Nevada, Reno (113). Host Cal Poly was fourth (90), while California was fifth (86), Fresno State sixth (55), Long Beach State (50), CS Bakersfield ninth (30), and UC Riverside tenth (24). A total of 20 teams competed in the event.

The Rebels will next compete at UCLA Invitational on Friday-Saturday in Los Angeles.
