High Preseason Praise

LAS VEGAS - The UNLV men's golf team has been ranked sixth and the women's team has been ranked 16th nationally in the 2004-05 Golfweek preseason polls, the magazine has announced. The men's team, guided by head coach Dwaine Knight (in his 18th year at UNLV), is led by 2004 NCAA Champion and 2004 U.S. Amateur Champion Ryan Moore who returns for his senior season. The team returns 10 student-athletes and welcomes three newcomers. The women's squad, directed by Missy Ringler (in her third season at UNLV) welcomes back top returners in senior Hwanhee Lee, sophomore Seema Sadekar, junior Elena Kurokawa and senior Young Pak off last year's team that made an appearance at the NCAA Championships. The team returns eight student-athletes and welcomes three newcomers. Florida is atop the rankings on the men's side, while UCLA leads the women. UNLV's men's team opens the 2004-05 season on Sept. 26 at the Preview Invitational in Baltimore, Md., while the women's squad begins play on Sept. 13 at the Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M.
