Demi Du opened up Denver's Ron Moore Intercollegiate in the top 35 to lead UNLV women's golf after Friday's first round at University of Denver Golf Club at Highlands Ranch (Par 72, 6,622 yards).
REBEL ROUNDUP: Du shot a 1-over 73 with three birdies on the front nine to sit in a tie for 33rd through 18 holes. Following her in the Rebel lineup are freshman
Almina Erdogan (+3) and
Lana Yamagata (+3) in a tie for 53rd, as well as sophomore
Amber Chen (+7) and freshman
Yen Liu (+7) in a tie for 72nd.
DAY-ONE LEADERS: Vanderbilt jumped to the top of the leaderboard with a 17-under as a team for a five-shot lead over Colorado in second. After notching 7-under 65 scorecards on the day, the Commodores' Lynn Lim and Buffaloes' Carolyn Fuller share the lead.
