Yen Liu shot an even-par 72 on Saturday to lead UNLV women's golf in the second round of Denver's Ron Moore Intercollegiate at University of Denver Golf Club at Highlands Ranch (Par 72, 6,622 yards).
REBEL ROUNDUP: Liu improved from her opening round score by seven shots after making four pars and two birdies on her final six holes to jump into a tie for 55th (+7). The Rebel lineup also includes freshman
Lana Yamagata (+4) in a tie for 43rd, freshman
Demi Du (+5) in a tie for 45th, freshman
Almina Erdogan (+6) in a tie for 51st and sophomore
Amber Chen (+14) in a tie for 78th.
DAY-TWO LEADERS: Vanderbilt maintained its spot atop of the team leaderboard at 18-under as a team for an 11-shot lead over Colorado (-7) and Texas State (-7) in a tie second. The Commodores' Ava Merril shot a 4-under 68 to grab the individual lead at 7-under through 36 holes.
Behind Liu's scorecard, the Rebels (+22) showed a six-shot improvement by following up their day-one 302 (+14) with a second-round 296 (+8) as a team.
