SAN FRANCISCO - Former UNLV wide receiver Earvin Johnson and linebacker Adam Seward played in the 80th Annual East-West Shrine Game Saturday at SBC Park.
Johnson, who finished his career as the Rebels' all-time receiving yards leader, caught four passes for 62 yards. His day included hauling in a 34-yard pass from former Oregon State quarterback Derek Anderson in the first quarter that led to a touchdown and a 7-6 lead by the West Team.
Seward, who closed his career as UNLV's and the Mountain West Conference's all-time tackles leader, finished with three assisted tackles as the East went on to win the game 45-27.
This marked the fifth straight year that UNLV sent at least one player to the East-West Shrine Game and more Rebels have played in the event (12) than any other traditional postseason all-star game.
Next up for Johnson is a trip to Hawaii for the Hula Bowl Maui along with teammate Dominique Dorsey.
