UNLV vs. BYU Game Notes -- Nov. 5, 2005

UNLV TE Greg Estandia caught a five-yard TD pass from QB Jarrod Jackson in the second quarter, giving him six for the season and nine for his career. Estandia leads the Rebels this season in catches (42), receiving yards (489) and scores (six).

UNLV kicker Hubi Schulze Zumkley made his first appearance of the season, kicking off following the Rebels' TD in the second quarter.

UNLV DE Jacob Hales recorded his second career sack, bringing down John Beck in the second quarter.

UNLV nickel back KC Asiodu blocked his first career punt in the third quarter and it was recovered by Renan Saint Preux. It was the Rebels' first blocked punt since Donell Wheaton blocked on against Toledo on Aug. 29, 2003.

BYU improved to 6-0 all-time vs. UNLV in Las Vegas and 7-0 all-time at Sam Boyd Stadium when including a win over Wyoming in the 1996 WAC Championship.

Combined with his 356 yards in his last game, UNLV QB Jarrod Jackson's 329 yards passing marked the first time the Rebels went over 300 yards in consecutive games since two players combined to toss for 351 vs. Illinois State on Sept. 27 and Jon Denton rolled for 354 at USC on Oct. 4, 1997.

It was the first time a single UNLV signal-caller went back-to-back over 300 since Denton got three straight such games (382 at TCU, 503 vs. SDSU and 432 at SJSU) to finish the 1996 season.

UNLV's 41-point loss tied for the 13th-biggest defeat in school history.

Including five sacks for a loss of 40 yards, UNLV finished with a net rushing total of just two yards, which tied for the fourth-worst total in school history and worst since finishing minus-six vs. Air Force in 1998. Just two games ago, UNLV finished with just two yards at Air Force as well.

UNLV RB Erick Jackson turned in career-highs with eight catches and 91 yards.

UNLV H-back Renan Saint Preux caught a career-high eight balls for 59 yards.

LB Beau Bell and Safety Joe Miklos tied for a game-high 15 tackles.
