ON HIS TEAM'S EFFORT IN THE BYU GAME AFTER WATCHING THE TAPE
"When you watch effort and playing hard and going hard, for the most part that continued through the game. But there was a subtle lowering of the competitive level. The thing that we've got to eliminate is that we got to fight harder when things don't go well rather than giving in."
ON THE TURNOVERS AGAINST BYU
"There was a stretch of 10 plays watching it on tape where we had three turnovers and the score went from 10-7 to 31-7. Ten offensive plays and three direct touchdowns and that was the difference in the game right there."
"There were moments, and I hate to say this when the score was like it was, but there were some good moments in this last game and that is the thing that is hard about this whole thing. But there were too many mistakes and we've got to eliminate mistakes."
ON TCU OVERALL
"This is a very good team. I have not watched their offense much, other than what I have seen on tape against other opponents. But I have watched their defense and they are really fast and really good."
"They are really good on defense and as we all know, defense wins championships."
ON THE ADDITION OF TCU TO THE MWC
"I felt right from the beginning that TCU coming into the conference upped our value as a conference because it was another good football program coming in."
