LAS VEGAS - The UNLV men's golf team shot a tournament-low tying 7-under 281 on Saturday during the second round of play at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Championship being played at Southern Highlands Golf Club (par 72, 7,510 yards) and lead the field by one shot heading into Sunday's final round of play.
Georgia (296-281--577, +1) was the other team with a 7 under, also shooting it during the second round of play. The Bulldogs are in fourth place at 1 over. Oklahoma State (292-284--576, E) and Arizona State (288-288--576, E) are tied for second at even par, one shot behind UNLV (294-281--575, -1). Wake Forest (297-283--580, +4) and Georgia Tech (297-283--580, +4) are tied for fifth at 4 over.
UNLV's Ryan Moore (73-67--140, -4) fired a 5-under 67 on Saturday and charged into a tie for second place at 4-under with New Mexico's Spencer Levin (73-67--140, -4), who also shot 5 under during the second round. The pair trail South Carolina's Mark Anderson (66-72--138, -6) by two shots. Anderson shot even par for the second round but still leads the field at 6 under for the tournament.
Sam Hunt (72-71--143, -1) is the other Rebel in the top 10 after shooting a second-round 1-under par and is tied for seventh with seven other golfers.
