Two Punch Tickets To NCAA Outdoor Championships

AUSTIN, Texas - UNLV women's track wrapped up the final day of competition at the 78th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in strong fashion as Halima Decree and Christine Spence both ran NCAA Championships qualifying times Saturday.

DeCree took fifth in the 100 meters with a time of 11.27 to earn a trip to the NCAA Championships on June 8-11 at Sacramento, Calif. She ran a qualifying time of 11.61 Friday afternoon. Tremedia Brice of Texas Southern won the event in a time of 11.00.

Spence earned her way to the national championships with a second-place finish in the 400 meter hurdles. Spence clocked a time of 57.31 in the invitational bracket of the meet. TaNisha Mills of Sheffield Elite came in first with a time of 56.54.

UNLV continues its outdoor season next weekend at the MT Sac Relays, a three-day meet that starts April 15 at Walnut, Calif.
