Rebels Awarded Top Seed At NCAA West Regional

LAS VEGAS - The second-ranked UNLV men's golf team has been awarded the top seed at the NCAA West Regional, which will be played at Stanford Golf Course in Stanford, Calif., beginning Thursday, May 19, the NCAA announced Monday.

Three regional tournaments, encompassing the current nine regions, will be played May 19-21. A total of 27 teams and six individuals not on selected teams were assigned to each regional site.

The other regional sites are at the Golf Club of Tennessee (East) in Nashville, Tenn., and Warren Golf Course (Central) in South Bend, Ind.

Ten teams and two individuals not on advancing teams will move on from each regional to the championship finals.

The 2005 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships will be held June 1-4 at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Md.

Listed below are the teams and individuals selected to participate in the championships. Teams winning automatic qualification are designated by their conferences in parenthesis.
