LAS VEGAS - The UNLV men's golf team is ranked seventh in the country to begin the spring season as the Golf Coaches Association of America/Bridgestone Coaches Poll was released by the GCAA on Thursday.
Georgia is No. 1 for the seventh straight time in the poll after earning 19 of 20 first-place votes. The Bulldogs, who spent the entire fall ranked No. 1, easily outdistanced second-ranked Georgia Tech.
Oklahoma State remained third, just ahead of UCLA, which moved up one spot. BYU and Florida tied for fifth, followed by UNLV and Duke, each of which dropped a single position. Arizona State and Georgia State rounded out the top 10 as they tied for the ninth spot.
UNLV competed in four tournaments during the fall, claiming the team title at the William H. Tucker Invitational, finishing second at the University of Hawaii Intercollegiate, fourth at the PING/Golfweek Preview Invitational and 15th at the Isleworth-UCF Collegiate Invitational.
The Rebels open the spring season on Feb. 22 at the John Burns Intercollegiate in Wahiawa, Hawaii.
