LAS VEGAS - The No. 6 UNLV men's golf team will travel to Provo, Utah, for the PING Cougar Classic being held Friday-Saturday, April 14-15, at Riverside Country Club (par 72, 6,950 yards).
The 44th annual PING Cougar Classic will feature 16 teams that will play 36 holes on Friday, April 14, followed by a final round of 18 holes on Saturday, April 15.
Last year, Fresno State won the tournament with a 44-under-par 820, while Fresno State's Mark Mogdlin won medalist honors with a 14-under 202. UNLV did not compete in the event last year.
The 16 competing teams will be Air Force, Boise State, BYU, Colorado State, Fresno State, Hawaii, Nevada, Reno, Southern Utah, UNC Charlotte, UNLV, Utah, Utah State, Utah Valley State, UTEP, Weber State and Wyoming,
In its last outing, UNLV finished second at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational in Tempe, Ariz., just one shot back as a team, with its best individual finishes coming from senior Andres Gonzales and freshman Blake Trimble, who both tied for eighth at 4-under.
