UNLV Finishes Up At MWC Championships

PROVO, Utah - UNLV women's track and field team had two athletes and both relay teams score points for the Rebels in the final day at the Mountain West Conference Outdoor Championships, held at the Clarence F. Robison Track on the campus of BYU.

Lekeisha Lawson led the Rebels, placing third in the 100 meters with a tie of 11.84, scoring six points for UNLV. She also added a seventh-place finish in the 200 meters with a time of 24.47.

Lawson then ran legs on the Rebels 4x100 meter relay team that finished third with a time of 46.09 and the closed out her meet by running on the 4x400 relay team that finished eighth with a time of 3:55.94.

For the meet Lawson played a part in 15 of the 16 points that the Rebels scored at the championships. Brittney Bullocks added an eighth-place finish in the 100 meters with a time of 12.13 for UNLV.

The overall women's champion at the meet was BYU, which took the team title with 188 total points, finishing ahead of Colorado State which had 150.50. League newcomer TCU took third with 144 points, San Diego State was fourth with 121, followed by New Mexico with 67.50, Utah with 65, Wyoming with 43, Air Force with 29 and UNLV with 16 points.
