SATURDAY'S CAMP STAR:
Casey Flair, WR, 6-1, 195, So.-1L, Anchorage, AK, East HS
Casey Flair catches nearly everything thrown his direction and if that was not enough, he is also the holder for field goals and PATs while also returning punts, making him our Camp Star for Saturday.
Flair, a sophomore from Anchorage, has come a long ways since he walked on to the Rebels in 2004 after not being offered a scholarship coming out of East High School. Flair has done nothing but worked hard since arriving in Las Vegas and he has turned himself into a starter at wide receiver. Last season he started all 11 games, finishing the year with 32 catches for 382 yards and two touchdowns.
"For me it is all about hard work. I compete in everything I do and I am going to work hard and be motivated to keep getting better," Flair said. "Anything that I can do to help the team, I will do it, whether it is catching balls, holding on kicks or returning punts."
Flair is majoring in psychology and in high school he set the Alaska state record for touchdown receptions in a season with 21.
"Casey has improved a ton and he has made a tremendous commitment to the team," UNLV head coach Mike Sanford said. "He leads by example, goes out and makes plays and does whatever is needed."
