LAS VEGAS - With possibly the biggest Las Vegas crowd in series history expected for Saturday's football game between UNLV and UNR, fans can combat potentially long lines in the parking lots and ticketing areas by planning ahead.

While kickoff is set for 7:06 p.m., parking lots at Sam Boyd Stadium will open at 3:00 p.m. and stadium doors open at 5:30 p.m. so fans are urged to arrive at the stadium as early as possible.

Fans can purchase their tickets in advance on-line at unlvtickets.com and then conveniently printing them at home. They can also buy them at UNLVtickets outlets at all Station casinos and Fiesta casinos or the Galleria Mall at Sunset. Tickets are also available at the Thomas and Mack Center Box Office on campus any day through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. On game day, Sam Boyd Stadium Box Office windows will open at 3 p.m.

Special ticket prices for Saturday's annual Battle for the Fremont Cannon are $32 for sideline seats and $17 in the end zone. A limited number of group tickets (20 or more people) are still available but can not be purchased after Friday. Also, the popular Rebel Fun Pack option (four end zone tickets and four coupons for a small drink, hot dog and a popcorn) is still available for $48 but must be purchased by this Friday. Call (702) 739-FANS to purchase tickets or for more information.

The biggest Sam Boyd Stadium crowd to see a UNLV-UNR game was the 28,341 fans at the 2002 game, which the Rebels won 21-17. Athletic department officials are expecting to reach that many and perhaps more than 30,000 for this year's in-state rivalry.
