Baden Cougar Challenge Revisited: The Rebels walked into Baden Cougar Challenge at Bohler Gym against the Washington State Cougars last Friday carrying a two-match winning streak and walked out a day later with an identical streak. Unfortunately, the Cougars snapped the first streak in a 3-1 contest that the home team used a quick 2-0 lead to take. Down a match in the challenge, the team rebounded similar to its play in the UNLV Classic and won the final two matches to claim second. The only difference between this past weekend and the play in the UNLV Classic was that the Rebels swept their competition with matching 3-0 scores instead of 3-1. The Rebels improved their record to 4-2 with sweeping wins over UC Davis and Boise State last Saturday.
The Cougars went on to win their own tournament with a 3-0 record. Boise State finished in third with a 1-2 mark and was followed by UC Davis in fourth at 0-3.
Maria Aladjova and Lauren Miramontes earned all-tournament honors, as did Jackie Stroud (Boise State), Adetokunbo Faleti (Washington State), Kelly Rosin (Washington State) and the MVP Brittany Johnson (Washington State).
