LAS VEGAS - The UNLV men's golf team was ranked fifth in the nation in Golfweek's Preseason Men's Top 25, which has been posted at Golfweek.com.
Defending NCAA champion Oklahoma State is the nation's top-ranked team in the poll, followed Georgia, who was ranked No. 1 all of last season before placing sixth at the NCAA Championships. UCLA is third, followed by Clemson in fourth and UNLV rounds out the top five.
UNLV sophomore Seung-Su Han was mentioned as a Preseason Third Team honoree in Golfweek's Preseason Top Men's Individual rankings. UNLV freshman Roberto Galletti, Jr., was also listed as a Golfweek Frosh To Watch.
UNLV, which enters its 20th season under head coach Dwaine Knight, will open the 2006-07 season at the Iverness Intercollegiate Invitational in Toledo, Ohio on Sept. 11. The squad returns nine letterwinners and is coming off a 19th place finish at last year's NCAA Championships.
