Box Score

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The UNLV men's soccer team played a tight match at Sacramento State, but the Hornets would prevail in overtime when Eli Millan scored a golden goal for a 1-0 win for the host squad on Friday afternoon at Hornet Soccer Field in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation contest.

UNLV (5-5-2, 1-2) actually finished with a 16-13 edge on shots, and allowed only two shots on goal. However, it was the second shot on goal by the Hornets (2-8-1, 1-1) that was the difference, as Millan collected a deflected header, and volleyed it into the net for the game-winner in the 100th minute (99:42).

Lamar Neagle and Ben Haugland each had five shots for the Rebels, who were playing on the road for the first time in over a month. Calvin Bailey was credited with one save in goal for UNLV, while for the Hornets, Ryan Kenny earned the shutout while making six saves.

UNLV will remain in California for its next game, a Sunday afternoon contest at San Jose State at 1 pm.
