LAS VEGAS - The UNLV men's golf team will send four players to play in the Sycuan Invitational next week and will compete as individuals, which means UNLV will not have a team score at the event.
The Sycuan Invitational will be held Monday, Oct. 22 and Tuesday, Oct. 23 at Willow Glen Course at Sycuan Resort in El Cajon, Calif. The course will play 6,687 yards and par is 72.
The tournament will consist of 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday. The field is made up of student-athletes from Air Force, Army, Cal Poly, Denver, Fresno State, Hawaii, Missouri, Navy, New Mexico State, UC Riverside, UNLV, Utah, UTEP, San Diego State, Washington State, Wichita State, Wyoming and Yale.
Each day of competition will begin at 7:30 a.m. and each round's results will be available on Golfstat.com as well as a link from UNLVRebels.com.
Competing for UNLV will be C.J. Gatto, Brandon Loska, Matt Kinsinger and Brett Kanda.
The Rebels last competed Oct. 8-9 at the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate in Birmingham, Ala., where they finished third as a team.
