LAS VEGAS - UNLV football drew a record number of fans to Sam Boyd Stadium in 2007, setting the single-season per-game average as well as the single-season total record over its six home games.

The Rebels played in front of an average crowd of 29,281, which was nearly 2,000 more per game than the previous record of 27,582 set during the 2002 season. The total attendance for the year was 175,684, which included a school-record three sellouts against Wisconsin, Hawaii and BYU.

UNLV's first sellout of the season came against then-No. 5/5 Wisconsin when 38,250 fans, the third-largest home crowd in school history, packed Sam Boyd Stadium on Sept. 8. That was followed the very next week by another sellout crowd of 38,125 that watched the Rebels battle then-No. 24/22 Hawaii, marking the first time in UNLV history that the Rebels enjoyed back-to-back sellouts at Sam Boyd Stadium.

The Rebels' third capacity crowd of the season also produced the largest crowd ever to see the Rebels take on a conference opponent at Sam Boyd Stadium as 38,026 witnessed UNLV play BYU on Oct. 13.

Those three home crowds, which included major amounts of visiting fans, were the fourth, fifth and sixth biggest, respectively, in school history, and meant the Rebels boasted four sellouts in a span of nine home contests (including last fall's meeting with Nevada, Reno) after having a grand total of six the previous 35 years playing at Sam Boyd Stadium.
