LAS VEGAS - UNLV baseball will head into the final day of the Rebel Challenge, a series of weight lifting and conditioning events over a period of five days that will bring a close to the team's workouts heading into the end of the 2007 fall semester.
In today's events Corey Hales won the 100-yard relay with a time of 3:08 and the team winner in the event was Jhonnies with a time of 21:11. In the obstacle course the top performer was Rance Roundy with a blistering time of 50 seconds. The team victor was the Big League, turning in a time of 7:41.
During Wednesday's competition, Hales won the bench press with 29 repetitions while Jhonnies racked up 90 as a team. In the squat Claus won with 100 while team John Rockers had 190. The final event of Wednesday was the towel hang and Al McCormick won with two minutes and team Shock Value combined for 442 seconds.
With just one day of competition left, Stephen Singer has a 15-point lead over Steve Rinaudo in the individual race. Jhonnies has a four-point lead in the team competition over Big League with two events remaining.
