UNLV To Compete At NAU

Feb. 2, 2007

LAS VEGAS - UNLV women's track and field continues its season on Saturday at the Mountain T's Indoor Invitational, an all-day meet hosted by Northern Arizona University at the J.L. Walkup Skydome.

The meet actually got underway on Friday with the multi events, with the full track and field schedule set for Saturday.

The 48 events of competition for the men and women will feature a wide range of participants, from high school aged to 2000 Olympic gold medalist in the pole vault, Nick Hysong.

UNLV will be looking to continue its strong start from last weekend's meet in Seattle, one that was highlighted by junior Monique Humphries breaking her own record in the weight throw with a mark of 57'-2.25". She finished fifth with that throw. Other top-five finishers from last weekend's meet included Claire Schreiner in the high jump and Aja Evans in the shot put.

A total of 14 student-athletes will be competing tomorrow for head coach Barbara Ferrell-Edmonson, and the meet is slated to start at 7:00 a.m. (PT).
