LAS VEGAS - The No. 7 UNLV men's golf team will compete at the John Burns Intercollegiate, which is being hosted by the University of Hawaii, on Wednesday-Friday, Feb. 21-22 at Leilehua Golf Course (par 72, 6,917 yards) in Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
The 54-hole tournament will be played over three days with 18 holes each day. Each round will begin at 8 a.m. HST.
The field is comprised of 22 teams: Arizona, Auburn, Denver, UC Santa Barbara, UNLV, New Mexico, UTEP, SMU, San Diego State, San Diego, Colorado State, California, San Jose State, Utah, UH-Hilo, Long Beach State, BYU, Texas A&M, Nevada, Reno, Arkansas, Fresno State and Hawaii.
Competing for UNLV in the event will be Jarred Texter, C.J. Gatto, Eddie Olson, Seung-Su Han and Matt Kinsinger.
SMU won last year's Burns Intercollegiate with a 41-under 823, while medalist honors went to SMU's Brandon DeStefano, who won on the second hole of a playoff after a 54-hole total of 14-under 202.
UNLV won its first team title of the season in its last tournament - at the PING Arizona Intercollegiate in Tucson in January. It was UNLV's second top five finish of the year.
