LAS VEGAS - UNLV football's radio and television broadcasts, including the coaches shows, will begin their seasons this week as the Rebels open the year at Utah State on August 30.
All 12 UNLV football games will be heard this fall on ESPN 920 AM for the ninth consecutive year. The Rebels' broadcast team is made up of KLAS TV-8 (CBS) morning new anchor Dave McCann as returning play-by-play voice and former college and NFL star Mike Pritchard, who is in his second season as the school's analyst.
Thursday's broadcast of the opener will begin with Rebel Warm-Up at 4:30 pm (PT). Lotus Broadcasting sports director John Hanson will fill in as play-by-play announcer for the lid-lifter while McCann moves over to work a special TV broadcast of the game. The Rebels vs. Aggies will be televised live in Southern Nevada on Las Vegas One (Cox Cable channel 19).
Also, all season long, fans outside of Las Vegas can hear all the action through UNLV's official website unlvrebels.com as a subscription to Rebels All-Access is available for $6.95 per month or $49.95 a year.
"GAMETIME WITH UNLV FOOTBALL" For the 13th consecutive season, "Gametime with UNLV Football" with host Dave McCann can be seen every Sunday on KLAS TV-8 (CBS). Regularly running at 11:30 p.m., the show features head coach Mike Sanford for an entertaining half-hour of game reviews, previews and an inside look at the team.
The show will also air earlier in the day on Las Vegas One (Cox Cable channel 19) at 9:30 p.m. "Gametime" will premiere Sunday, September 2 with a special 3:30 p.m. debut before settling into its 11:30 p.m. slot. Also, the series will be replayed on The Mtn. (Cox Digital Cable channel 334) starting on Tuesdays at 10:30 p.m. PT after Labor Day week. The debut episode will first air on The Mtn. on Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 10:30 p.m.
"Mike Sanford RADIO SHOW" The first two episodes of Mike Sanford's coach's radio show (Aug. 28 and Sept. 4) will air on Tuesdays from 7-8 p.m. on ESPN 920 AM before the show moves to its usual spot at that time on Thursdays. Also, the season's final edition (Nov. 20) will air on Tuesday because of the Thanksgiving holiday.
UNLV football play-by-play radio announcer Dave McCann along with analyst Mike Pritchard will join Coach Sanford each week during the season live from Findlay Toyota at the World Famous AutoMall in Henderson.
