LAS VEGAS - The UNLV men's golf team is part of Golfweek Magazine's Preseason Top 10, which was announced this week.

The Rebels are listed as the eighth-best team in the country in the feature story that appears on Golfweek.com's college page.

Stanford, the defending NCAA champion, is the top-ranked team and is followed by UCLA, Alabama, Georgia and USC in the top five. Florida is sixth, then Clemson, UNLV, Duke and Oklahoma State.

Last week, the Rebels were ranked 12th in the coaches' preseason poll.

UNLV, which enters its 21st season under head coach Dwaine Knight, will open the 2007-08 season at the Inverness Intercollegiate Invitational in Toledo, Ohio on Monday, Sept. 10. The squad returns eight letterwinners from last season.
