Bringing The Indoor Season To An End

Colorado Springs, Colo. - Saturday was the final day of competition, and overall the Mountain West Indoor championship was what the Rebels wanted, a strong team performance.

The performance didn't produce strong results on paper but it was another step in showing a continuance of improvement as a team. UNLV ended up placing eighth in the conference with a score of 33 points. The team came just four points shy of beating Utah for the seventh place spot.

Lekeisha Lawson had a time of 7.57 in the 60 meters for a fourth place finished and Lauren Johnson had a time of 7.64 for a seventh place finish. Brittney Bullocks had a sixth place performance in the 400 with a time of 57.69. Charlotte Browning finished fourth in the mile run with a time of 5:08.76. The 4X440 yard relay team which consisted of Lawson, Bullocks, De'Lace Kelly and Kristen Johnson came in sixth place with a time of 3:53.

The final results of the Mountain West Indoor Championship were 1. TCU - 129; 2. Colorado State - 121.50; 3. BYU - 112; 4. San Diego State - 94; 5. Wyoming - 64; 6. New Mexico - 51.50; 7.Utah - 36; 8. UNLV - 33; 9. Air Force - 22.

Next week the Rebels are back home for the UNLV Collegiate Classic which begins at 8:30 am with the women's hammer throw. The final event of the day is at 3:15 with the men's 4X4 relay.
