LAS VEGAS - The UNLV men's golf team, which won the Southern Highlands Collegiate Championship at Las Vegas' Southern Highlands Golf Club on Sunday, moved up from 22nd to 14th in the Golfweek/Sagarin ratings and was named Golfweek's Men's National Team of the Week, the publication announced Tuesday.

UNLV is profiled at Golfweek.com on the college page's "Honor Roll" section. UNLV was selected as the team of the week after it bettered seven of the top 10 teams in the Golfweek rankings to win last weekend's tournament by two shots over No. 4 Charlotte and by three over No. 1 Georgia. The Rebels shot 288-288-293 for a 5-over 869 total.

The win marked UNLV's second team title of the season (also won the Shoot-out at Angel Park in September - also in Las Vegas) and sixth straight top-five finish. It was also UNLV's third time in the last four years winning the Southern Highlands event and seventh time in the last 14 years.

UNLV will be back in action March 23-25, at the National Invitational Tournament in Tucson, Ariz.
