First Serve: The UNLV Rebels (4-10 overall, 2-4 Mountain West) hit the road this week as they close out the first half of conference play in Texas and New Mexico. The Rebels, who are coming off a 3-1 victory over Seattle this past Saturday, will head to the "Lone Star State" to face the TCU Horned Frogs (16-5, 5-2) Thursday night (Oct. 15) in Fort Worth at 7:00 pm CT/5:00 pm PT. UNLV will then head to the "Land of Enchantment" for a contest against the New Mexico Lobos (12-6, 4-3: prior to Tuesday's match at New Mexico State) in Albuquerque Saturday afternoon (Oct. 17) at 1:00 pm MT/12:00 pm PT.

The UNLV-TCU match was just been added to The Mtn. - The MountainWest Sports Network schedule. The match will be shown same-day tape delay and aired at 6:30 pm PT.

On The Sidelines: Following their two road matches, the Rebels return home to kick off the second half of the MWC slate with visits by the San Diego State Aztecs and the Air Force Falcons. UNLV will host SDSU on Thursday, Oct. 22 at 7:00 pm, while the Falcons will come to town for a Saturday affair on Oct. 24 at 1:00 pm.

Scouting TCU: The Horned Frogs enter the week with a 16-5 overall record and sit in third place in Mountain West Conference standings with a 5-2 mark. TCU are coming off a 1-1 showing on the road last week in league play following a 3-1 loss at Utah prior to a 3-0 sweep of BYU. In all, the Horned Frogs have won three of their last four and 11 of their last 13.

Historically speaking, UNLV owns an 8-2 edge in the head-to-head series with TCU dating back to 1998. The Horned Frogs won the last meeting on Oct. 25, in Forth Worth, by a 3-1 margin, but prior to that victory they had lost seven straight to UNLV going back to 2005. The teams split its two-game series in 1998, when both were members of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). Overall, UNLV has won three of five on the road.

Scouting New Mexico: The Lobos enter the week with a 12-6 overall record and sit in fifth place in current conference standings with a 4-3 record. UNM will hit the road for an in-state rivalry match with New Mexico State Tuesday night prior to hosting the Rebels on Saturday. The Lobos are coming off a 1-1 record last week after splitting road contests at BYU (3-0 loss) and at Utah (3-1 win). In all, UNM has won four of its last five after coming off a stretch where they had only one once in five tries.

Historically speaking, UNLV owns a 15-8 edge in the head-to-head series with UNM. The Lobos swept both meetings in 2008 by identical 3-0 scores. From 2003-07, the Rebels won eight straight. UNM began the series with a 4-2 advantage before watching UNLV rattle off 13 wins in 17 tries.

Rebels On The Small Screen: UNLV will make three more appearances on television this year after having its Oct. 1 match vs. Utah air on The Mtn. - The MountainWest Sports Network.

Due to a recent turn of events, UNLV's match this Thursday (Oct. 15) at TCU will be aired via same-day tape delay on The Mtn.. The match is set for a 7:00 pm CT/5:00 pm PT first serve, but will not hit the airwaves until 6:00 pm PT.

The Rebels' contest at BYU on Oct. 29 (7:00 pm MT/6:00 pm MT) will air on The Mtn., as well..

UNLV's fourth and final televised contest will be shown via tape delay. The home affair with TCU on Saturday, Nov. 14 (1:00 pm) will be aired on Tuesday, Nov. 17 (4:00 pm) on CBS College Sports.

Rare Roofing Materials: In the history of the UNLV volleyball program only two players have etched their names in the top five of all three career blocking categories, Lauren Miramontes (2003-07) and Erin Greenwood (2006-Pres.).

Miramontes, a 2007 AVCA Honorable Mention All-America and three-time All-MWC performer, ranks first in all three categories with 426 total, 80 solos and 344 assisted blocks.

Greenwood keeps climbing the charts with each block she amasses this season and currently sits fourth in total blocks (309) and assisted blocks (256), while ranking fifth in solo (53).
