LONG BEACH, Calif. (UNLVRebels) - UNLV's victory in the men's 200 yard medley relay highlighted the action for the Rebel men's and women's swimming and diving teams on the second day of action on Friday at the Arena Invitational, held at the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool.

UNLV came into the meet ranked first in the nation in the 200 medley relay, and held onto that status by posting a season-best time of 1:27.66, holding off the relay squad from No. 3 Stanford by .033 seconds. Making up the relay squad was David Seiler, David Szele, Cody Roberts and Steven Nelms. Roberts then matched that feat as he won the 100 fly in a time of 47.45, which also ranks as the fastest time in the nation this year.

Other top swims from UNLV included a pair of runner-up finishes, from Andrew Morrell in the 100 breast (54.40) and from Giacomo Gremizzi in the 400 IM (3:50.90). Nick Blank added a sixth-place swim in the 100 back (50.21), while Kyle Virva was seventh in the 200 free (1:40.04).

For the UNLV women, the highest individual finish came from Katelyne Herrington, who was fourth in the 100 fly in 53.59, while Jessica Heim placed fifth in the 200 free (1:47.92) and Marley Prothero was sixth in the 400 IM (4:19.61). The 800 free relay team of Heim, Lara Sreibers, Friderika Szel and Lisa Gillespie placed third in 7:22.99, while the 200 medley relay squad of Rachel Dixon, Lisa Gillespie, Herrington and Szel tied for sixth in 1:42.74.

The three-day meet continues on Friday, and will conclude on Saturday.
