PALO ALTO, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - The 29th-ranked UNLV women's tennis team rebounded from an upset loss on Friday to double up No. 65 Cal Poly 4-2 in Saturday's consolation round of the ITA Kickoff Weekend Playoff at Stanford's Taube Family Tennis Stadium.

It was first win in six tries at the annual national ITA tournament for the Lady Rebels, who improved to 4-1 overall on the season. The Mustangs fell to 1-2.

UNLV had to rally for the victory after dropping a close doubles competition. Only 48th-ranked Lucia Batta and Anna Maskaljun won for the Lady Rebels, 8-2, at the second position.

Moving to singles play, UNLV quickly tied things when Batta, ranked 41st, disposed of Alexa Lee 6-1, 6-4 at the top of the lineup to improve to 14-3 in her freshman season. Maskaljun was next on the board with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Kathryn Webb on court six.

After Cal Poly picked up a win at No. 3, Aleksandra Josifoska finished off Florence Fehane at No. 2 by the score of 7-5, 6-3. Senior Adrienn Hidvegi then ended the match with a 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 victory over Jocelyn Davis at No. 5. The final match was then halted.

UNLV is now off for two weeks before hosting Denver on Feb. 18.
