Valparaiso Game Notes
LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV baseball team will continue its six-game home stand with a four-game series against Valparaiso University starting tonight at Wilson Stadium.
The Rebels (12-3) are coming off a midweek split with 14th-ranked Arizona, falling 12-1 Tuesday night before rebounding for a 9-7 win Wednesday afternoon. Friday's game will mark the third four-game weekend series at home in the first month of the season for UNLV.
The Rebels are 8-2 at home this season and have won each weekend series played, sweeping Maine opening weekend and taking three of four games from Central Michigan a week later.
Senior Rance Roundy was honored as the Mountain West Conference Player of the Week for his stellar performance at the plate last week in UNLV's five-game road trip at Texas Tech and Nevada, Reno. Roundy batted .667 for the week, including going 10-for-11 with four doubles, a home run and nine RBI in the Rebels' sweep over UNR.
First pitch is slated for 6:05 p.m. tonight against the Crusaders. Saturday will feature a doubleheader with game one starting at 2:05 p.m. and game two to follow approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one. Sunday's series finale will begin at 11:05 a.m. at Wilson Stadium.
