RENO, Nev. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV baseball team picked up its third straight win on the road and second in as many days over the University of Nevada, Reno with its 10-6 win today at Peccole Park.

Joe Robinson (2-0) picked up his second win of the year after throwing 6.0 innings. Freshman Zack Hartman pitched three innings in relief, yielding just one hit and striking out two for his third save of the season and second this week.

UNLV (10-2) got a boost from its one through five hole hitters who combined for 13 of its 15 hits on the day. Rance Roundy was 4-for-5 with four RBI while Brandon Bayardi was 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored to lead the way.

The Rebels offense picked up where it left off yesterday, scoring six runs over the first three innings to take a commanding 6-1 lead early on. Back-to-back singles by Trevor Kirk and Trent Cook was followed by a bases-clearing double from Roundy, giving the Rebels a 2-0 advantage after one.

Hunter Beaty and Kirk led off the UNLV third with singles before an errant pickoff attempt from UNR pitcher Tom Jameson allowed Beaty to score and Kirk to make his way to third. Cook then walked and Bayardi stepped to the plate and hammered his second home run in as many days and fifth this season.

The Wolf Pack (0-8) picked up one in the fourth and cut the lead to 7-4 in the bottom of the fifth on a Hugo Hernandez two-run homer to left field.

UNLV tacked on three more in the top of the seventh to go ahead 10-4. Roundy hit his second double of the day, scoring Cook and Bayardi and reached home one batter later when Cash Thomas singled up the middle.

UNR again used the long ball to chip into the UNLV lead with Brian Barnett hitting a two-run shot to left in the bottom of the seventh, cutting the score to 10-6. The Rebels turned to the pen and Hartman was able to come in and close the inning without further damage.

Hartman didn't allow a hit in the eighth or ninth as the Wolf Pack could not put together a late rally.

The two teams will conclude their weekend series with first pitch slated for 1 p.m. at Pecolle Park.
