Air Force Game Notes
LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV baseball team will wrap up a six-game roadtrip this weekend with a three-game set at Mountain West Conference rival Air Force.
The Rebels (30-19, 7-10 Mountain West) are coming off a series win at Washington State University, taking two of three games from the Cougars last weekend in Pullman.
Tanner Peters (8-3, 1.31 ERA) recorded his second straight complete-game win and sixth of the season after scattering four hits in a 4-1 win Friday night. Peters stands just one complete game shy of tying the Mountain West Conference all-time record of nine. The junior righty has not allowed an earned run in 18.0 innings and enters the weekend ranked second in the nation innings pitched (96.0) and complete games (6).
Travis Feiner is coming off a stellar performance at Washington State, one that earned him Co-Mountain West Conference Player of the Week honors. Feiner became the second Rebel to earn POW honors, joining two-time winner Rance Roundy. Feiner batted .444 over the weekend with two home runs, including a sixth inning solo shot in the series finale that broke a 3-3 tie and propelled the Rebels to a 6-3 win.
First pitch Friday afternoon is slated for 2 p.m. at Falcon Field.
