Results

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV Women's Tennis Fall Invitational, which kicked off the hosts' tournament season, opened amid 100-degree autumn desert heat at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on Friday.

Sophomore standout Lucia Batta, ranked 95th in the nation, is the only Lady Rebel still alive in the top flight of singles after a pair of victories. She downed Natalia Salum of New Mexico State 6-2, 6-0 and then got by Callie Craig of Utah 2-6, 6-3, 7-5 in the quarterfinals.

Also still alive is UNLV freshman Manon de Lanlay, who won her first collegiate match, 6-1, 6-1, over Johanna Vang of NAU in Flight Two.

Two rounds of doubles and one round of singles will be played Saturday with the finals set for Sunday.
