LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's tennis team completed an eight-match homestand by downing Oregon 4-1 on a windy Wednesday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
The Lady Rebels improved to 8-7 while the Ducks of the Pac-12 Conference fell to 7-8.
Because of the adverse conditions, the teams started with singles play and agreed to stop when one side reached four points.
UNLV got its scores from 58th-ranked Lucia Batta, who downed Nicole Long 6-4, 6-3 at the top position; Aleksandra Josifoska, who swept Jasmine Minor 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2; Santa Shumilina, who finished off Lane Buttner 6-0, 7-6 at No. 4; and Paola Artiga, who doubled up Kadie Hueffner 6-3, 6-3 on court six.
Next up, head coach Kevin Cory's squad will travel to Fresno State on Sunday for a key Mountain West Conference matchup.
