Final Stats
CLEMSON, S.C. (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV baseball (29-18/16-8 Mountain West) lost 5-2 to Clemson in its final game in the Palmetto State on Monday night at Doug Kingsmore Field.
The Tigers jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first inning. The Rebels cut the deficit in half in the third when Patrick Armstrong hit a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring Matt McCallister from third.
Clemson followed that up by plating two runs in the home half of the frame.
In the fourth inning, UNLV got a run back when McCallister doubled to left field, driving in A.J. Hernandez from first.
The Tigers extended their lead to 5-2 after scoring another run in the seventh inning and held on for the win.
Kenny Oakley (3-5) took the loss after allowing five runs on three hits. Cody Roper and Brayden Torres both made relief appearances for the Rebels.
From the plate, UNLV was led by Matt McCallister, who finished 2-for-4 in the game, scored a run and recorded an RBI. Joey Armstrong also had multiple hits, going 2-for-3 in the game.
