LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV baseball has 12 student-athletes playing in summer collegiate leagues all across the country. The Rebels' volunteer assistant coach Tony Cappuccilli will also skipper a summer ball squad. Teams are underway with their respective seasons and will play through the middle of August before the players return for the fall semester.
A total of seven teams over six leagues will have Rebels on their rosters during the 2014 summer months.

Rising juniors Bryan Bonnell and Kenny Oakley are playing in the Cape Cod Baseball League. Bonnell is playing for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox, while Oakley is playing for the Brewster Whitecaps. Rising senior A.J. Hernandez will be suiting up for the Peninsula Oilers and will face off against Cappuccilli's squad in the ABL. After three games, the Oilers are 2-1 and Hernandez is hitting .455 (5-for-11) and has driven in a team-high five runs. Rising sophomore Andrew Encinas and rising senior Johnathan Torres are playing for the LA Brewers in the California Collegiate League.
