Oct. 29, 2015

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - With the UNLV football team hosting a game on Halloween for the first time since 1998, the all-new Rebel Block Party will of course include treats for fans in the pregame experience at Sam Boyd Scary on Saturday. Also, the first 5,000 fans entering the stadium will receive a UNLV logo hat, courtesy of Findlay Toyota.

Open to the public, this time starting at 9:30 a.m., the Rebel Block Party is located in the northwest parking lot of the stadium. The 64,000-square-foot area offers a variety of food trucks on-site to lead you up to the 12:30 p.m. kickoff against Boise State.

The Block Party will also include a free Kids Zone featuring a face painter, balloon artist, football toss and inflatables. Pumpkin painting will begin at 9:30 a.m. and then trick-or-treating starts at 11:00 a.m. with a limited number of special UNLV Trick-or-Treat bags available for kids.

Kids who come to the game in costume can also check in at the Kids Zone starting at 11 a.m. to be entered into costume contests with lots of great prizes.

A live radio remote by 97.1 The Point featuring Steph MacKenzie from the "Foxx and MacKenzie in the Morning" show will also include games, prizes and giveaways.

As always, fans are encouraged to gather at the Block Party to help the UNLV cheer and dance teams and Star of Nevada Marching Band greet UNLV head coach Tony Sanchez and his squad as they make their Rebel Walk into the stadium. Team buses are scheduled to arrive this Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

Following the Rebel Walk, a free concert will begin at 11:00 a.m. as appearing live on the Rebel Block Party Stage this week will be favorite local musician Jeremy Cornwell.
