LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV men's basketball freshman Dantley Walker suffered a sprain of his medial collateral ligament in his right knee during the Runnin' Rebels game at Air Force on Saturday, Dave Rice announced Monday.
He expected to be out 3-4 weeks.
Walker, a guard from Panaca, Nev., has played in 11 games this season for UNLV and has averaged 5.8 minutes played per contest.
"We are very disappointed for Dantley," Rice said. "He is an important part of our team and we know he will work extremely hard to get back to playing as soon as possible."
This is the third significant injury to a Runnin' Rebel this season (Daquan Cook, Rashad Vaughn and now Walker).
UNLV will dress seven scholarship players and two non-scholarship players (Barry Cheaney and Charles Rushman) on Wednesday as it hosts Boise State at the Thomas & Mack Center at 8 p.m.
