LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Sophomore pitcher
D.J. Myers was stellar on the mound again, guiding UNLV baseball (5-2) to a 3-1 victory over Pacific (0-7) on Sunday at Earl E. Wilson Stadium.
Myers (2-0) allowed one run on seven hits with seven strikeouts while not issuing a walk in seven innings of work. Freshman
Jack Freedman made his second appearance of the season and allowed one hit while facing four hitters. Junior pitcher
Zack Hartman became the all-time saves leader in UNLV history by picking up his 17th career save after a clean inning of work in the ninth.
Senior right fielder
Edgar Montes went 1-for-4 with a home run to lead the Rebels offensively.
UNLV plated two runs in the bottom half of the third after
Payton Squier and
Joey Swanner scored on a Tigers' error to take a 2-0 lead. Pacific scored one in the top half of the fourth, but the Rebels got the run back in the home half of the frame on Montes' home run to left field.
UNLV and Pacific conclude its four-game series Monday at 2:05 p.m.

This season at Earl E. Wilson Stadium, fans will enjoy a new and improved concession stand. Smoken Sams catering will be providing entrees that range from barbecue sandwiches, hot dogs and hamburgers to nachos, chicken fingers and fries. A variety of beverages will also be available.
