LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's tennis team lost 4-3 for the second consecutive day, this time at the hands of New Mexico State on Sunday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
The Rebels fell to 1-4 overall.
The Aggies won both completed doubles matches to earn the key team point.
In singles, the teams eventually were tied at 3 after UNLV got wins from Iren Kotseva, 6-3, 6-2 over Rimpledeep Kaur at No. 3; Paola Argtiga, 6-0, 6-0 over Mia Brandt at No. 4; and Alexis Garrett, 6-2, 6-3 over Chloe Jolliff at the sixth spot. The match came down to court five and NMSU's Erika Lopez Castillo fought off Mercedes Lopez Valez by the score of 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 to clinch it.
The Rebels are next in action Feb. 20 when they host Kansas State starting with doubles play at 10 a.m. Admission is free of charge.
