FRESNO, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV baseball (6-5, 0-3 Mountain West) dropped its series finale 4-0 toFresno State (6-5, 3-3 MW) on Sunday at Pete Beiden Field.
The Bulldogs took 1-0 lead in the fourth inning after Taylor Ward homered to left field. Fresno State extended its lead by adding a run in the sixth inning and two more in the eighth.
The Rebels best chance came in the seventh inning when they got runners to second and third, but were unable to push any runs across.
From the plate, UNLV was led by 
Joey Armstrong. He was the only Rebel to finish the game with multiple hits, going 2-for-4. 
Payton Squier, 
Erik VanMeetren, 
Edgar Montes and Justin Jone also recorded a hit in the contest.
Junior 
Kenny Oakley (0-1) was saddled with the loss after allowing two runs on five hits in 5.1 innings of work. 
Ben Wright and 
Zack Hartman made relief appearances for UNLV. Wright allowed one unearned run on four hits in 2.1 innings of work, while Hartman allowed one unearned run on one hit after pitching one third of an inning.
The Rebels were slated to travel to face Oklahoma State on Tuesday and Wednesday, but will not travel to the Sooner State because of winter weather in the area.
