LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Junior pitcher Kenny Oakley pitched masterfully, leading UNLV baseball (7-6, 1-4 MW) to a 1-0 victory over Nevada, Reno on Saturday at Earl E. Wilson Stadium.

The Rebels snapped a four-game losing streak and handed the Wolf Pack (12-2, 4-1 MW) their first conference loss.

Oakley recorded the first complete-game shutout of his career and second complete game. He scattered four hits while striking out a career-high 11 with two walks and faced the minimum number of batters through the game's first five innings. Oakley's last complete game happened in 2013, when he propelled UNLV to a 2-1 victory over San Diego State.

Justin Jones and Dylan Ellis tallied two hits apiece to lead UNLV offensively.

The Rebels got the one run they needed in the second inning when Morgan Stotts scored on a UNR throwing error.

The two teams will conclude their three-game set Sunday at 1:05 p.m. PT. Junior Bryan Bonnell (1-1, 5.56 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Rebels, while UNR has not yet announced its starter.

The game will be shown in its entirety on UNLVRebels.com/videos, thanks to the Mountain West Network. Tony Cordasco will handle play-by-play duties, while Josh Towers will provide analysis.
