LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV wide receiver Devonte Boyd is one of just five sophomores named to the official preseason watch list for the Biletnikoff Award, which goes each season to the nation's top pass catcher.

The Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, the Florida-based creator and sponsor of the Biletnikoff Award, released the 2015 preseason list on Wednesday. The winner is selected by the Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee, a group prominent college football journalists, commentators, and former receivers.

The Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation will announce the 10 Biletnikoff Award semifinalists on Nov. 16 and the three finalists will be announced one week later. The 2015 Biletnikoff Award will be presented on Dec. 10 at The Home Depot College Football Awards Show on ESPN.

Boyd, a graduate of Henderson's Basic High School, was a unanimous choice for 2015 Preseason First Team All-Mountain West by Lindy's, Athlon and Phil Steele's preview publications. Last year he led the nation among freshmen during the regular season with 980 receiving yards on 65 catches and was named both the 2014 MW Freshman of the Year and Football Writers Association of America Freshman All-America.
