LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV led from start to finish on Friday afternoon, winning a total of 10 events on the way to a 165-97 win over Pacific for the Rebel men's swimming and diving team on Friday afternoon from Buchanan Natatorium.

"Our men came out on a mission today and started the meet off with a bang," said UNLV interim head coach Bobby Folan. "By taking the top two spots in the first relay, that showed how hungry we were. They really stepped up their game today and I'm proud of them."

The Rebels began the afternoon with both relay squads going under 3:24 in the 400 medley relay for a 1-2 finish. The team of Caio Dini, Boris Kulizhnikov, Avi Cohen and Dillon Virva was first in 3:23.19, while Christian Sobczak, Francois Van Wynsberghe, Joseph Starkweather and Kasey Foley touched the wall in 3:23.93, .12 seconds ahead of the top Tiger relay.

With UNLV set to swim a pair of teams on Saturday, Friday's meet featured several shortened events, beginning with the second event of the day, the 600 free relay. Hannon Daigler would win that event with a time of 5:40.16. After Pacific went 1-2 in the 200 free, UNLV came back to win four of the next five events, beginning with the 50 back, was claimed by Dini (23.91). Cohen won the 150 fly (1:21.64), while Christopher Havton was second. Virva topped the 50 free once again with a swim of 20.13, and Foley was victorious in the 100 free with a time of 45.62.

Kulizhnikov won his first individual event of the day, the 150 breast, in 1:31.17, while Virva added a second win, this time in the 50 fly in 22.05. Daigler joined Virva with two wins on the day, this time in the 200 IM in 1:53.89. UNLV closed out the meet by winning the 400 free by over two seconds. Foley, Forrest Beesley, Caio Dini and Virva made up that relay squad for the Rebels.

UNLV will next compete on Saturday with its final dual meet action of the season. On Senior Day for the Rebels, they will host by Wyoming and the women's squad from Nevada, Reno.
